Fishy-ponic

This is day 1 of the "Aquafarm" from Back to the Roots. I picked it up at an overstock saler store. Sort of following the instructions, I've washed the rocks, the growstones and set up the whole thing. 2 basil, 2 swiss chard and one parsley found their way in the 5 net pots.
The kit provides among other things a bottle of beneficial bacteria, to help establishing nitrification quickly. I however did not follow the directions: to set up the system, I took 1/2 gallon of the water form the Wormy-ponic system to start up the tank, and completed with enough water to fill up the tank, then added 1 mL of the mix of beneficial bacteria. Finally I added 1 mL of household ammonia. Everyday, I add 1 mL of the mix of beneficial bacteria mix, and change out 1 cup of water for 1 cup form the Wormy-ponic system. Once the system is cycled, I'll get either a beta as advised, or a couple of minnows.
